“I’ve been fortunate, being from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I have eaten in the greatest restaurants over a period of 3 decades. In addition, I’ve been everywhere: Copenhagen, Georgetown, Paris, Berlin, Punta Cana, Montezuma, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami, Atlanta, London, and the list goes on.”
I’m a foodie and I take my dining experience very seriously. I’ve always wanted to have a food column to inform and educate people of restaurants to frequent and ones to avoid. Yuko Kitchen is a unique, pleasing and phenomenal restaurant. Attractive and personable staff, delicious and light dishes, foliage decor, and a menu filled with a great Asian inspired food selection. I recommend Yuko Kitchen to everyone that loves Japanese and or Asian food! I no longer live in LA but when I’m in town it’s a must eat. I don’t remember the first time I ate at Yuko Kitchen, but I couldn’t get enough. I ate there 3 times a week and any business lunches were held at the Wilshire location. Everything about this place is welcoming. There is a sense of pride of amongst the staff which is hard to find in most dining establishments. There is something on the menu for everyone. My recommendations: I start with a Mint Lemonade. Spicy Salmon Rice Cake, Spicy Salmon Rice Bowl, Roasted Kabocha Pumpkin, and for dessert a Green Tea Chocolate Chip Cookie. One way you can tell if a restaurant is healthy and successful is the appearance of the staff and patrons. The first thing I do when I walk into a restaurant is size up the room. Yuko Kitchen is always a full house, and the patrons are happy and in great shape. Not to mention the prices are affordable and haven’t really changed in over 10 years. You can’t go wrong with either location, and we give Yuko Kitchen an Art Thug recommendation of 4 out of 5 Stars.
