POLITICAL AGENDA: VOTE LIKE YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE DEPENDED ON IT
“VOTE – a formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action, expressed typically through a ballot or a show of hands or by voice.”
The first time I voted in my life was for Barack Obama. I was 40 years old. For 22 years I didn’t think my voice, or my vote mattered.
I helped elect the first African American President of the United States of America.
I’ve voted in every single federal and state election ever since.
We the people of the United States of America have the power to choose our elected officials.
When we don’t vote we are doing a great disservice to ourselves and our community.
We all need to vote because it’s one of the most important rights and responsibility of every US citizen.
I understand the psychology of why people don’t vote in elections.
There are many reasons why, but most people feel that no matter what Politician wins the election, nothing will change.
I believe if there are no valid candidates you must vote for the candidate that will do the less harm to the people, country, and World.
There are 168 million registered voters in the United States. 259 million people over 18 live in the USA. 91 million people are not registered. That’s nearly 1/3 of the adult population that doesn’t vote.
From this point forward we the people of all backgrounds need to vote and get everyone of our family, friends, and colleagues to do so as well.
Voting is a right and a privilege.
We can’t allow corporations to secure corrupt lobbyist who represent the interest of the 1%. To influence and persuade Politicians on both sides of the aisle to approve a bill or make into a law one that will be harmful to its citizens now and for future generations.
We should make a law that it’s a felony not to vote. Voting once you turn 18 years of age is mandatory. In addition, we should hold 2-day elections on Saturdays and Sundays. This legislation will make sure every vote is counted and the will of the people is represented.
Many Corporations control the narrative in the media that cast suspicion and doubt. They don’t want you to vote especially if you don’t vote for the candidate they choose. They don’t want you to believe your vote matters. They want to keep you out of the ballot box and out of the conversation.
You matter, your vote matters. Don’t do anything to risk losing this fundamental right.
We all are counting on you.
